Some things begin long before they are named...

Estrella was founded in 2023, but its story started much earlier. With Sandeepa Agarwal, a mother whose instinct for beauty never needed formal validation. She once ran her own boutique, guided by an intuitive eye for detail. Life later led her into the world of furniture and handicrafts, but design was never something she left behind.

Drishti, her daughter, grew up watching that - the way her mother noticed fabric, the way she always knew when something simply felt right. 

Years later, while studying Marketing and Data Science at NYU Stern, fashion revealed itself to Drishti in a completely different light. She attended New York Fashion Week, watched designers like Tony Ward and Elie Saab translate vision into form, explored ateliers across the city, and worked at a New York design brand from the inside out.

Those years also made a gap impossible to ignore. In 2023, conversations turned into action. Estrella was born from that shared instinct between mother and daughter — two perspectives shaped by different worlds, but moving toward the same idea. Drishti pursued a fashion design certification at Parsons School of Design alongside her NYU degree, learning to hold creative instinct and business rigour in the same hand.

In 2025, she returned to India. And Estrella became fully alive.

India brought something irreplaceable. The craftspeople Estrella works with carry techniques passed down across generations - zardozi, aari, and hand embroidery traditions that cannot be replicated or rushed.

Today, Estrella exists at the intersection of two generations.

Sandeepa brings an enduring sense of taste and a deeply intuitive understanding of craft.

Drishti brings a global perspective, design education, and a belief that what a woman chooses to wear is one of the most personal forms of expression.

Together, they create pieces that move seamlessly between Indian and Western, occasion and everyday — as one continuous language.
